Ronnie Tarchichi’s academic accomplishments reflect his unwavering commitment to lifelong learning. He holds two doctoral degrees, beginning with a Doctor of Philosophy in Education, which he earned in 2020 from Temple University, with a concentration in Special Education. This achievement highlights his dedication to addressing the needs of diverse learners. In 2016, he earned a Doctor of Education in Educational Leadership from Rowan University, equipping him with the skills necessary for transformative leadership.


Complementing these achievements are six master’s degrees spanning various fields. Between 2015 and 2018, Dr. Tarchichi completed two Master of Arts degrees at Rowan University, focusing on Learning Disabilities and Special Education. He also holds a Master of Education in Educational Leadership from The College of New Jersey, which he earned in 2011. His additional master’s degrees include a Master of Biomedical Science from the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey, a Master of Science in Biology from Rutgers University, and a Master of Education in Physical Education and Exercise Science from The College of New Jersey, completed in 2005. His academic journey began with a Bachelor of Science in Exercise Philosophy from West Virginia University in 2004.

Leadership in K-12 Education

Since 2024, Ronnie has served as the Executive Director of Education and Principal at the Mary Dobbins School & Legacy Treatment Services in Hainesport, New Jersey. In this role, he oversees academic and therapeutic programs for students in grades 5 through 12, focusing on their educational growth and emotional development. He also spearheads initiatives to expand and enhance the school’s facilities and programs.


From 2016 to 2024, he was Superintendent of Pennsauken Public Schools, a PreK-12 district with a $172 million budget. His leadership brought significant advancements, including introducing over 20 career and technical education programs such as HVAC, cosmetology, and Air Force JROTC. He partnered with colleges to allow students to earn associate degrees in high school. He oversaw the creation of the Roosevelt STEM School, which became New Jersey’s first top-ranked state school in Pennsauken’s history.


From 2013 to 2016, Dr. Tarchichi served as Superintendent and Principal of the Woodlynne School District, where he secured a $4 million ROD Grant for facility improvements and significantly boosted student achievement. The Woodlynne mayor and police chief recognized his efforts with a Leadership Award.

Contributions to Higher Education

Ronnie’s influence extends to post-secondary education, where he has served as an Adjunct Professor of Biology at Rowan University from 2012 to 2017. During this time, he taught courses that prepared students for careers in science and healthcare. He also taught biology, chemistry, and microbiology at Burlington County College and Mercer County College. His role in Temple University’s Upward Bound Program allowed him to mentor high school students, preparing them for college through foundational science education.

Culinary Arts Experience

In addition to his work in education, Dr. Tarchichi has a unique background in the culinary arts. For 25 years, he worked as the Head Cook in his family’s restaurant. This experience taught him the importance of teamwork, customer service, and quality food preparation. Working closely with his mother, he developed a strong work ethic and an appreciation for the dedication and values he carries into his professional endeavors.

Certifications and Recognitions

Dr. Tarchichi holds many certifications, including Superintendent, Principal, Supervisor, and Certified Educational Facilities Manager (CEFM). He is also certified in instructional areas such as Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Culinary Arts, Driver’s Education, Health and Physical Education, and Teacher of Students with Disabilities (TOSD). These certifications span across New Jersey, Pennsylvania, and Maryland.


His accomplishments have earned him numerous awards, including the "Superintendent’s Academic Achievement Award" in 2024 for creating New Jersey’s top-ranked state school and the "Courageous Leadership Award" in 2020 for his exemplary guidance during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Research and Publications

Dr. Tarchichi has made valuable contributions to academic research. His first doctoral dissertation at Temple University explored “Writing to Learn Strategies on Student Learning in Biology: An Experiment with Students with Specific Learning Disabilities,” offering insights into improving outcomes for students with learning challenges. His second dissertation at Rowan University examined “The Impact of Mathematics, Science, and Language Arts Writing to Learn Strategies on the Culture of Learning in Primary and Secondary Students.”
